no entry fee open team tournament ideaIve got an idea that Ive been kicking around and looking to get some feedback on both from the fisherman and a business perspective.
I would like organize a tournament where sponsors paid the prizes. Business X would pay the $1000 first place prize, that prize would ALWAYS be referred to as "the business X first place award." so forth and so on for the other places, we could pay back as many places as we could get sponsors for. I am looking at a date of 01 Dec 07, so we are talking about 4 months of flyers circulating and advertising for the sponsors. coverage on the tournament results would of course be on my site but i think anglerschannel and lake wylie pilot might get involved as well maybe BFHP too, so plenty of coverage and reach for advertising again for the sponsors. Each team would have to register even though there would be no entry fee, the data could be compiled for the sponsors to market to the participants directly. Sponsors could bring banners and/or products(i.e. boats and trucks) to the weigh in site.
No entry fee should draw a pretty big crowd and in a rare situation fisherman would actually get to fish for something other than a share of thier own money.
