Sadly the 2007 boat parade canceled due to droughtDear boaters and friends:
Due to the drought and our concerns regarding safety, this years boat parade has been canceled.
We know many folks put the boat parade date on their calendars and look forward to a fun, festive and family oriented holiday event on the lake......
We want to take the lemons the drought has given us and turn it into an opportunity to make lemonade, so we are in the midst of working with the classic car guys around the lake to put together a classic car parade and show with a holiday flair, of course. There will be Santa, elves and I am sure a whole cast of characters who will want to participate. If you have a car and want to participate, please call Jim Olson (704) 678-7957.
There will be no entrance fee. Some of the boaters have asked if they can decorate their boats and bring them by trailer to T-Bones to have them on display also. What spirit our lake community has.
T-Bones is also putting on a "holiday cocktail party" on Sat., Dec. 8th that will last all evening with libations, food and a band. Tickets can be purchased at T-Bones for $50 each. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Lake Wylie Fireworks Fund and The Justin Mycals Cancer benefit fund.
Please let your friends, neighbors and business associates know what is going on for this year. If you or your friends and neighbors would like to help or participate please let me know.
