Jon boat anchor

Postby Richard » Mon Aug 17, 2015 10:17 am

I have a 15 foot jon boat and thought maybe one of you guys had experience with anchoring one while fishing. I know it's not rocket science but trying to not waste time with it and u guys always have good advice. I tried using a paint roller pole that extended to twelve feet kinda like a power pole and then I cut the end off and installed a steel stake in the end. It worked but when you pull it up its full of water and has to drain before I move on , duh I didn't think of that part. I thought about the anchors that u can crank up as my next option ?
Thanks Guys
Richard

I engineered my own version of a shallow water anchor, I use 2 8' solid fiberglass rods. you can get them from farm supply places they use them for fencing and ive seen 12' listed
