Wylie at night

Postby Richard » Fri Aug 18, 2017 6:18 pm

Hey Rusty
it seems that every time I read about catching bass at night they mention throwing big worms, big jigs, big spinnerbaits, topwater, etc. You know how bad the fish get beat up on Wylie and so I would think big might not be in my favor. When you fished Wylie at night did you go big most of the time ? I haven't had much luck on Wylie at night this year.
Thanks and enjoyed your latest video ! Now that I think about it that sounded like a big BB you were throwing . But that wasn't Wylie either.

thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

given the pressure and decline of fishing on lake wylie i would lean more towards finesse style baits but be attentive to the way the fish are biting. if they are really hammering a small bait then that may be a an indication that they are in an aggressive mood and a larger, faster presentation may work better. yes generally at night i fish larger baits.
